Policies & Procedures

Zahira’s Aspiring Children is opened to you, the parent, anytime your child is present.

For the safety of all children, we do request that make your presence known to the person in charge, and cooperate in not disrupting the center’s program.

Children Served

Zahira’s Aspiring Children is opened to children ages 2 weeks to 12 years old without discrimination on the basis of political affiliation, religion, race, color, and sex, mental or physical disabilities.

 

Hours of Operation

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 12 months a year.

The Zahira’s Aspiring Children in home child care center is opened for specific hours of operation, early arrival and late pickup cannot be allowed.

 

  • If children are left at the Center after closing time and no word is received from the parent (s), or an emergency contact cannot be reached, authorities will be contacted.

 

  • After the Center’s closing time, the Center may charge a late pick-up fee. If someone is not here to pick up your child by 6:30 p.m.

 

  •  There will be a standard Another will be added for every minute . Fees incurred for late pickup are due upon arrival or will be included in your next invoice

Forms

Upon enrollment, your child(ren) will need all state, county and ZAC forms completed in a timely manner.

 

  • All forms necessary will be provided by the center.  Information on forms regarding your child(ren) or specific Center forms must be updated as needed.

Fees

A tuition and fee schedule will be provided by Zahira’s Aspiring Children Center. 

 

  • You will be informed of all rates, discounts, late fees, breakfast charges, registration fees, and any other Center specific fees.

 

  • Tuition is due on FRIDAY, BEFORE THE WEEK THAT THE SERVICES ARE RENDERED.

 

  • ALL FEES ARE DUE BEFORE SERVICES ARE RENDERED

 

  • TUITION OR PAYMENT IS DUE EVEN IF YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN ARE ABSENT, WHICH INCLUDES HOLIDAYS, VACATIONS, SPRING BREAKS ETC.

 

 

Nutrition

Breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks are available at the Zahira’s Aspiring ChildrenThe Center will provide information on the schedule meals and snacks that are served.

 

  • For bottle fed children, parents must provide prepared formula or breast milk, placed in bottles, as well as jar foods for infants not yet ready for table food.

 

  • All infant items should be marked with the child’s first and last name.

 

  • Weekly menus for children on table food are available for review; may be subject to change

 

  • Please see the Director for information regarding special diets and allergies.

 

 

Medication

  • All prescribed medication must be left at the front desk with the person in charge. A medication formed must be filled out completely and signed by the parent or guardian BEFORE any medication can be given.

 

  • Non-prescription medication must have a signed, dated note from the child’s doctor stating the names of the child to receive the medication, name of the medication, amount to be given; times to be given; length of time to be given and any other special instructions.

 

  • All prescribed medication must be left in the original container and labeled as followed:

*Current Date

*Dosage

*Times to be given

*Expiration Date

*And any other special instructions

 

  • Medications will only be dispensed by the person or persons designated by the Center or Director of the Center.

 

 

Medical Emergency

  • If a child becomes ill, injured, or has an adverse reaction to prescribed medication while at the Center, the parents(s) or emergency contact person will be notified immediately.

 

  • If it is necessary to seek immediate medical attention for a child, the child will be transported to

  • The child’s emergency medical permission forms, as well as health information files will accompany the child.

 

 

In the event of an occurrence of a communicable disease as outlined by the Department of Health, a written notification will be posted on within 24 hours or the next business day.

 

 

Transportation (To and from public school)

Transportation is not provided to and from schools at this time.

 

 

Transportation (Field Trips)

A field trip permission form must be signed and dated for each field trip.

Children going on a field trip must wear a ZAC t- shirt or everyone must have on the same colors.

 

 

Severe Weather, Fire or Emergency Situations

If an emergency situation develops such as severe weather, fire, physical damage to the building, or any other situation that poses a threat, the safety of the children is our FIRST concern.

 

ZAC is equipped with a weather band radio, fire alarm detectors and fire extinguishers. Fire drills are conducted according to state and county regulations.

 

If there is an emergency situation and it becomes necessary to close the center, parents will be notified to make arrangements for early pickup.

 

We will make all efforts to stay open during inclement weather. We will follow Arlington ISD closings/delayed openings.  If we are NOT opened, you can find out by

               

  • Calling the center and listening to the voice mail or you will receive a text message

 

If an emergency situation develops and it is determined that the building or premises are unsafe, your child (children) will be transported to a safe location.

Discipline

At ZAC we use the “redirection method” to guild the children towards appropriate behavior. If a child is engaged in behavior not conducive to a safe and happy learning environment, the teachers will “redirect” the child towards appropriate behavior. The use of physical discipline, punishment or harsh language is prohibited
